From Dream to Dispensary

The steps between an idea, a license and opening day.

A storefront begins long before the door opens. Missouri’s microbusiness program is a specific licensing pathway, not simply a description of a small shop.

Start with the program.

DCR publishes eligibility information, applicant guidance and program announcements. Use those official resources to understand the process before making business commitments.

Ownership is the point of the license.

A micro license must be majority owned and operated by eligible people. Since May 2026, regulators review ownership arrangements before a license is issued, so agreements with investors or consultants are part of the application, not an afterthought.

A license is not the finish line.

Licensure, approval to operate and a confirmed storefront opening are different facts. Our directory keeps them separate instead of treating one as proof of the others.

This is an editorial introduction, not an owner interview, application checklist or legal advice. The accompanying artwork is illustrative.
